The Beer Advent Calendar, Day 4: Wheatland Spring Bricolage

In 2020 there are so few things that we can count on.  I think we're down to death, taxes, bears shitting in the woods and @Beerbecue7 loving Wheatland Spring unconditionally.  Therefore it comes as no surprise that on Day 4 of #BeerAdvent2020 @Beerbecue7 brings us Bricolage, a Russian Imperial Stout from Wheatland.

Bricolage (4.2/NR/NR) clocks in at 10.3% and is the first stout of #BeerAdvent2020.  As someone who celebrates #Stoutmas year round I was thrilled to see this entry.  I gave it a 4.5 on Untappd, and made the comment that this is basically as good as it gets if you're not going to use a Bourbon barrel.  It's rate I say this about a big stout, but this is a really delicate beautiful beer.  Aging the beer on French oak gives it a softness that isn't there in most Russian Imperial Stouts, and cacao nibs and vanilla beans add a depth of flavor/sweetness without making it taste like diabetes.  Whereas I don't love Wheatland to the same degree @Beerbecue7 does, they've hit this out of the park.  Let me save you the trouble to find this and give you the link for online ordering under the theory that if you're one of the 10 people globally who reads this blog, you'll want to give this a try.

Back tomorrow as #BeerAdvent2020 rolls on!
