Beer Advent 2024 Day 12: Here’s to Feeling Good at the Barn by Titled Barn

Tony took his wife out to dinner for her birthday. Or, if he’s anything like me, he went with his wife to her birthday dinner. In any case, he asked me to handle blog duties for Day 12. Poor timing on Tony’s part. Day 12 brings us back to the hazies. And unfortunately for this beer and its underwriter, I’m the least likely Beer Advent participant to give a positive review of a hazy boi.

This beer is brought to us by Tilted Barn Brewery. I had to check, but that’s a brewery in Rhode Island, a State so forgettable that even predictive text assumes you’re typing Rhodesia until you hit the space bar. Tilted Barn teamed up with Bissell Brothers (the brewery, not the vacuum cleaner company) to bring us Tilted Barn’s twist on Bissell’s Here’s to Feeling Good All the Time.  Not sure what the twist is. Both beers use the common hop cheat code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe. So let’s get to it:

Big aromas of peach and passion fruit, which always screams Simcoe to me. There’s mango and oranges kicking around as well. A bit of pine gives it a little structure. I like that it’s a departure from the otherwise fruit juice monotony of the hazy (D)IPA landscape, which is usually like driving through Nebraska, except with hitchhikers every half mile wanting to get in your car and force you take them to another brewery with 15 hazies on the board, all with different names than yesterday. Mercifully it doesn’t have the astringency of many hazies. In fact, I dare say there’s a bit of bitterness. At worst, its just a slight hint of when you brushed your teeth like 20 minutes ago and then drank some OJ. Also, it’s got the hazy thiccness, but not overwhelming.

Thicc like a Pixar mom dump truck.

All that said, I enjoyed it. The beer, not Elastigirl, you weirdo. I’m more of a Riley’s mom from Inside Out kinda guy. *ahem* Thanks, Tony! And lucky for you, Tony is back tomorrow.
