As the primary orchestrator of #BeerAdvent2020, I get to pick my dates:) I enjoy being able to drop the hammer on Christmas Eve, and the rest of my days lined well. I got a Sunday, Saturday and a Friday to bring merriment to my fellow men. I decided to push out my hoppiest selection for the first day as hops don't age as well as some bigger, maltier selections. For my first Advent Beer, I busted out Other Half DDH Diamond Reflection (4.34/NR/94) clocking in at a tasty 8.4% abv.
Through sheer dumb luck Beer Advent ended up with back to back Other Half beers, and it was a delicious coincidence. Although the DDH Diamond Reflection was smaller than the Triple Forever Citra, I think I like the hop blend a little bit more. I gave it a 4.25 on Untappd and thoroughly enjoyed it while watching the Patriots put one on the Chargers. As of the time of this post, Anthony Lynn is still employed, but for the life of me I can't tell why....
Now here is where #BeerAdvent2020 gets tough. The honeymoon is over and the novelty of opening beers wears off a little. It's early in the week and some of us have real jobs.... Twitter to this point makes it seem like everyone has been drinking on schedule, but can it last? Can the 6 of us keep it up until the next weekend? Or will @Beerbecue7 lose his mind and start drinking ahead? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of Beer Advent!
