Beer Advent 2024 Day 3: Crowns, Hammers, and Zombies by Mason Ale Works

Day 3 brings in our first New England IPA (or NEIPA for short...).  This hazy version of the IPA burst onto the scene in 2015 which may be the absolute apex mountain of craft beer.  Expansion hadn't watered down the industry, people would still stand in line for a good stout and beer was affordable enough that I could write a cheap beer of the week column.  Ah the good old days....

Anyways, several bad beers and bad breweries have gone the way of the Dodo, but the NEIPA appears here to stay.  Today's beer is Crowns, Hammers, and Zombies (4.1/NR/76) by Mason Ale Works collaborating with Beer Zombies and Craft Beer Kings.  That's a mouthful...

More ferocious can art.

This guy clocks in at 8.5% and is dangerously smooth.  High levels of haze soften the bitterness, and citrus juice washes over the palette.  I can't remember the other Mason Ale Works beers that I've tried, but things like this make me want to try some others.  One of our drinkers called this so dank that he felt like he was hanging out with Snoop...
Say what Jon C?

Tomorrow's beer appears to come in a 12oz bottle, so likely a NEIPA break for the time being, but I'm sure it will be tasty anyways.  Stay thirsty my friends.
